here, we hope to prove that getting by without buying new is significantly more exciting than hitting up your local big-box chain on the weekends. that good stuff can be made from scraps of old wood. that vintage toys are more interesting than their battery-operated counterparts. that furniture can last for lifetimes, instead of just a decade. that nicks and dings add character. that charm is in the eye of the beholder--and that charm can sometimes be hidden beneath several layers of dirt.
